Neverwinter -- the free-to-play MMORPG based on the popular Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying franchise -- has released an official launch trailer for the fourth and final content milestone of the Avernus module's multi-part update The Redeemed Citadel.
"With the final milestone unlocked for The Redeemed Citadel, players can now experience all of the exciting features that the citadel has to offer," an official release from Neverwinter publisher Perfect World Entertainment reads. "The new update concludes the epic campaign of Neverwinter players aiding the redeemed archdevil Zariel in her renewed crusade against the devils and demons engaged in the Blood War. After banding together throughout the previous milestones to restore power to the once Bleeding Citadel, it has finally been fully restored and its Forge rekindled, enabling Zariel’s allies to strengthen their armor and their resolve. This foothold in Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells, now serves as a beacon for Aasimar avengers everywhere."
Milestone IV of The Redeemed Citadel adds a new chamber, The Forge -- which allows players to upgrade their Hunt Armor, as well as craft Divine Armor. Moreover, Milestone IV adds the Aasimar as a playable character race. Players unlock the Aasimar upon completion of the milestone if they have purchased all Reforger's Blessings and claimed all personal rewards. The Aasimar Race's racial abilities are as follows:
Celestial Superiority: Damage dealt, outgoing healing, incoming healing, and maximum hit points are increased by 1%. Players take 1% lessdamage from all sources.
Ability Scores: Grants a player +2 to any two stats.
Celestial Presence: Grants all nearby party members a 1% increase tomaximum hit points. This effect does not stack.
Additionally, players will be able to earn new rewards in Milestone IV, including the "Crown of Candles Transmute," the "Reforger's Pants," "3x Blessed Gifts of the Companion Choice Pack" and the "Premium Legendary Insignia Choice Pack Bundle." A collection of screenshots from the milestone can be found below.
Neverwinter originally launched for the PC in June of 2013, with console versions arriving later. The Neverwinter: Avernus module -- the game's 19th expansion -- launched this past June, with the multi-part Redeemed Citadel update dropping its first milestone in August. To access The Redeemed Citadel, players must have a level 80 character, as well as complete the Avernus campaign and the Mote of Virtue storyline.
